March is nearing the end, which leads to April Showers and  May flowers followed by Open Houses, Reunions, Parties, and Summertime fun.  Now is the best time to plan for any of those events, especially if you want your pick of date and rentals.  Right now, I have 2 dates that are sold out of at least one tent size for backyard fun. Not to mention we only have so many tables and chairs.  Summer is short and Open House season gets crammed into a short amount of time with plenty of local area graduates. 

Since it’s warming up, and staying warm, the ground will be defrosted enough to safely pound stacks for our inflates.  Therefore, it’s also nearing the time when our inflatables will be allowed to be used outside. But even though the temperatures will be higher, our inflatables are still not intended for wet use, this means if it rains, you will need to turn the inflatable off and roll it up, cover it with a tarp and wait out the weather.   Why do we want them dry?  They are a safety hazard when wet, a wet inflatable equals a slippery sliding accident waiting to happen mess.  Plus mildew can occur when the inflatable gets wet and doesn’t dry completely (and they take a lot longer to dry out then you would think) Here at Fun Services we take pride in our equipment, everything is cleaned once it’s returned.

It is officially summer time in Michigan. Which means the weather can pretty much be all over the board, sometimes all in the same day.  The most important reminder about our inflatable rentals is that they can’t be used with water, this includes, rain, morning dew, sprinklers, water balloons, or anything else that will put water in or on the inflatable.  The reason we are so passionate about no water is that inflates can get moldy.  Obviously, mold is not something we want on our inflatables.  We clean each and every inflatable when it returns to us, so that the next customer has a nice shiny clean inflatable too.  If the inflatable gets wet while you have it, sometimes it’s not dry in time for the next rental customer.  They really do take that long to dry, especially if it’s humid which slows down the drying process.  Plus while we have 2 great buildings, we can’t set up every inflate we rent each weekend, inside our buildings at the same time, there simply is not enough room.  When mother nature decides to have some misty days, that means we can’t utilize our grass areas for drying either.

That being said, we are not trying to be fun killers, in fact we want you to have a good time with our rentals.  We pride ourselves on safe and clean inflatables.  This is why we ask you to call miss dig to have your yard marked so you properly stake our equipment into your yard for safe.  We use heavy duty tent stakes, they go deep so you don’t have to worry about your inflatable flying away during your backyard party.  And other than mold, you guessed it, a wet and slippery inflatable is just an accident waiting to happen. Pop up showers, are just that, it could be sunny and gorgeous then bam, raining.  In this instance, all you need to do is remove everyone from the inflate, turn the blower off, let the inflate deflate, then roll the inflate onto itself and cover with a tarp.  Then when the rain stops in ten minutes, I did mention Mother nature can be fickle, you can reinflate the fun and let the kids resume their play.  Raining the day before your event, and ground is mushy – put a tarp down under the inflate to keep the moisture off the bottom, and give the kids a dry area to leave their shoes before the fun.

The second important thing about our rentals is that some weekends we actually run out of inflatables!  So plan ahead if you don’t want to be told sorry that item is not available.  Midway Games, is the one thing that typically doesn’t run out, but certain games might run out on a big weekend.  We’ve got fun for big and small kids alike.  Got any questions about our rentals, give us a call today 269-763-9601.
